Clamshell BGA Socket with Heat Sink Lid
Ironwood Electronics (Eagan, MN) has introduced a new BGA socket design using high
performance elastomer capable of 75 GHz,
very low inductance, and wide temperature
applications. The GT-BGA-2019 socket is
designed for a 25 x 25 mm package size and
operates at bandwidths up to 75 GHz with
less than 1 dB of insertion loss. The socket is
designed to dissipate 7 W using a compression screw with heat sink fins and can be customized up to 100 W with modified fin design
on top of the screw and adding axial flow fan.

Harting (Elgin, IL) has launched the Han
Ex industrial connector portfolio for explo-
sion proof applications with a series
of 5 size 3A sets, each comprised of
a hood, housing, and high pin count
insert. This first Han Ex rollout is for use
exclusively in intrinsically safe circuits of
categories “ia,”“ib,” and “ic” of explosion
protection method “Ex I,” and is suit-
able for Zones 0, 1, and 2 for gas and
Zones 20, 21, and 22 for dust. The “Ex
i” protection method assures intrinsically
safe electrical circuitry that is limited for
maximum voltage, current, capacity, and
inductance. Features include:
