Kollmorgen (Radford, VA) has announced the NDC8:
Version 2. 6. This release provides an advantage for
larger Automated Guide Vehicles (AGV) manufacturers
that supply solutions for large warehouses. NDC8 2. 6
manages the complexity of large warehouse layouts,
varying load size/weight, and complicated material
flows. Features include:
System software, vehicle hardware and software, and
design and service tools.
Support for AGV suppliers with 100+ vehicle fleets.
Optimization for up to 1,000 simultaneous transport
The ability to accommodate 1,000s of load/unload stations.
Numerik Jena’s (Schaumburg, IL) RIK kit-
style optical angle encoder without bearing
is suitable for motion feedback applications
where space is limited. The scanning
unit has a low height profile and the
graduation carrier is a coated alu-
minum disk with a range of avail-
able sizes. The flat angle encoder
serves applications in a variety of
industries such as semiconduc-
tor, medical, metrology, and automa-
tion. Features include:
A graduation of 20 µm.
Outer diameters ranging from 26 to 200 mm.
Through holes from 6 to 160 mm.
Scanning units with heights of 6 mm.
Outputs of either a 1 V peak-to-peak analog or TTL
Rotational speeds of the disk that can be up to
Total line counts after TTL quadrature evaluation that
can be up to 9,600,000.
Compact Robust Gateway
Leine & Linde (Schaumburg, IL) has
announced a Compact Robust Gateway
(CRG) Overspeed, a combined over-
speed and signal monitoring compo-
nent intended for use in motion con-
trol applications where safe speed
feedback is required. Coupled with
an encoder, the CRG Overspeed
component can be used to indepen-
dently monitor whether a machine’s
speed is within allowable limits.
Pre-programming to independently
compare encoder output signals to a specified speed
which is specific to the application.
A gateway that will output an alarm on a set of redun-
dant relays to alert the control system if the encoder out-
puts reach the speed limit.
Advanced logic to verify proper operation by continu-
ously monitoring the encoder output signal transitions
and voltage levels.
A separate output relay for assertion of the alarm condi-
Diagnostic outputs from Leine & Linde encoders with the
Advanced Diagnostic System (ADS).
