Brass Surface Mount Fasteners
PennEngineering (Danboro, PA) has
introduced its PEM ReelFast brass surface
mount fasteners for printed circuit board
applications. The tin-plated Type SMTSOB brass
nuts and spacers/standoffs install permanently
on printed circuit boards. Features include:
■ Corrosion resistance and conductivity.
■ Pick-and-place installation.
■ The availability of threaded versions in sizes
#2-56 through #8-32 and M2 through M4.
■ Thru-hole (non-threaded) types, which can
be specified in sizes .116”, .143”, 3. 6 mm,
and 4. 2 mm.
■ Lengths ranging from .065 to .375” and
2 to 10 mm.
■ A design for use with boards of any hardness
and as thin as .060” (1.53 mm).

Hollow Knurled Knobs with Threaded Stud, in new inch as well as
metric sizes. The RoHS-compliant knobs are made of black nylon
plastic with a smooth, glossy finish. Features include:

00-03-0 pin features a compliant press-fit tail, slotted
head, and an additional press-fit feature on the barrel
of the pin. Features include:
■ A press-fit tail that can work with standard .040”
+/- .003” plated-through-holes.
■ A gas tight connection.
■ The ability to be used as an edge board mount pin.
■ A slot that accepts board thicknesses
